Thymox Technology

THYMOX TECHNOLOGY
A sustainable botanical technology: Proprietary formulations with strong antimicrobial and cleaning efficacy.

Active Ingredient
The THYMOX TECHNOLOGY comes from the heart of our formula: the active
is Thymol.  Thymol is a component of thyme oil, basically the same as the plant extract. This plant has long been used by humans for, among other things, as food preservatives.
Thyme oil is listed on the 25B Minimal Risk Pesticide.
Thymol is a GRAS molecule (Generally Recognized As safe) listed as a food additive in many countries
Thymol mode of action: induces instability in microorganisms’ membrane, causing cell content leakage and death.

Surfactants
Surfactants incorporated in our disinfectants are also of botanical origin, and are usually derived from
vegetable oils. These ingredients play key roles in the formulations: they stabilize the solution while
giving its cleaning properties. The cleaning aspect of a green disinfectant is crucial since it allows
mechanical removing of microorganisms from surfaces, thus increasing its efficiency.

UL EcoLogo Certified
Environmental Choice – A private label organic product
THYMOX is the first agricultural disinfectant in Canada to obtain UL EcoLogo certification under UL 2794 (formerly CCD-166):Disinfectants and Disinfectant-Cleaners, the most important, most respected environmental certification symbol in North America and one that is recognized all over the world.
What is UL EcoLogo?
Founded in 1988 by the Canadian government, the UL EcoLogo program provides its customers, public, corporate and consumers, with assurance that the products and services bearing the logo meet the most stringent standards of environmental leadership. UL EcoLogo certifies leading ecological products in more than 70 categories.
The UL EcoLogo program is a Type 1 ecolabel as defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This means that the UL EcoLogo program compares a product or service with others of the same type, develops rigorous, scientifically relevant certification standards that accurately reflect the entire life cycle of a product and ensures that its compliance with certification standards is verified by an independent third party. The UL EcoLogo program is one of two such programs recognized in North America that have been successfully audited by the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) as meeting ISO 14024 standards for ecolabelling.

Certification Requirements

NSF
Founded in 1944, NSF’s mission is to protect and improve global human health. Manufacturers, regulators and consumers look to NSF to develop public health standards and certifications that help protect food, water, consumer products and the environment. As an independent, accredited organization, NSF tests, audits and certifies products and systems as well as provides education and risk management.
The NSF mark is your assurance that the product has been tested by one of the most respected independent certification organizations in existence today. It is valued by consumers, manufacturers, retailers and regulatory agencies worldwide.
The NSF certification mark on a product means that the product complies with all standard requirements. NSF conducts periodic unannounced inspections and product testing to verify that the product continues to comply with the standard. www.nsf.org
